Free exploratory coaching session

Ready to give coaching a go?   Then book in for a free exploratory session.

It’s a chance to ask any questions, and try some coaching.  Most importantly, we can check if we’ll work well together.  And we can decide if life coaching, and specifically life coaching with me, is your best route forward right now.  If we fit, you can book one of my coaching packages and get ready for your first coaching session.

The exploratory coaching session lasts about 60 minutes via video call and it’s free of charge.  There’s no obligation or hard sell, but it is a precursor to us working together so I do ask that you check you’re happy with my working hours (over there to the right) and my pricing.

Working hours and location

I offer appointments via video call.  As such, I work with clients throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.  Additionally, I offer face to face appointments for those based locally – I’m situated on the outskirts of Durham City in the north east of England.

Each coaching session lasts about 1.5 hours.

The appointments available for my one to one coaching are:

Tuesday: 1pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm
Wednesday: 8am (Zoom only), 10am, 12 noon
Thursday: 8am, 10am, 12 noon
Friday: 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm (Zoom only)

After booking, you’ll also be sent my Let’s Get Started” questionnaire. Completing this is a prerequisite for the session taking place and I need your answers at least the day before we speak. It’s a useful process to help you consider what you want from the coaching and what might have been getting in your way. It’s also my way of checking that those who book in are genuine and also have the capacity to do the thinking and self examination needed to get the most from coaching. It’s fine to answer in as much or little detail as you wish and to skip any questions you’re not ready to answer.

If all that sounds good, then let’s do this!

Is life coaching for me?2019-05-29T16:13:04+00:00

If you have a feeling that your life isn’t what you want it to be and you’re willing to put the work in, then get in touch – life coaching is for you.

You might be unsure, unsettled or unhappy.  Deep down, you know that you’re selling yourself short.  Or maybe you’re bored, frustrated and looking for something more.  But you don’t know what or how to get it.  Perhaps, you keep hitting obstacles or getting the same unwanted results again and again.

Life coaching can help you take control and make positive changes so you can live the life you want.  These may be changes to your external environment, or could be in how you think about and approach things.  Life coaching is practical and effective as well as fascinating and fun!

Let me help you to find a life that fits. Find out more here.

Are you the best life coach for me?2021-03-29T14:31:31+00:00

Honestly, I don’t know if I’m the best life coach for you.  It’s important that we’re a good fit so have a look around my site and see what you think.  It’s a great reflection of who I am and how I coach.

If you want to know more about me as a life coach, book in for an exploratory session so we can have a chat.  It’s free of charge and will give you a chance to try some coaching.  Plus, it’s a great opportunity for us to decide if we’ll work well together.  If not, or if you feel that life coaching isn’t for you, then we’ll walk away. There’s no obligation and no hard feelings.

What’s the difference between life coaching and mentoring?2019-05-28T18:57:22+00:00

Much as I kid myself sometimes, I’m no expert!  As a life coach, I’m not here to tell you what to do and how to do it.  That’s the role of a mentor.  You might not believe it just yet but you have all the answers within you – they just sometimes take a bit of uncovering and that’s where I come in.  That’s the main difference between life coaching and mentoring.

What’s the difference between life coaching and counselling?2019-05-29T16:17:44+00:00

The somewhat glib answer is that coaching is about the present and the future, whereas counselling is about the past.  Some say counselling is more helpful when you want to make peace with something that happened previously.  Alternatively, coaching is more for when you’re ready to move forward from it.  The focus of life coaching is very much in the present and future.

The reality is never clear cut and, with me, it’s fine to bring emotion to the coaching space.  We are messy, complicated humans and our story never sticks to the rules.  You need to feel strong enough to look at what is going on around you and capable of making decisions and changes if needed.

I will always flag up if I think your needs would be better served by another professional.

How much does the coaching cost?2019-07-15T12:05:02+00:00

Visit my pricing page for details of my coaching packages and their costs.  I offer staged payment options with most coaching packages.

Coaching seems like a big financial outlay. Is it worth it?2019-07-15T12:04:33+00:00

Is coaching worth it?  Yes!

Ok, I’m biased but I also know the difference it can make.  You could splash out on a weekend away or a fancy new coat, and yes, that would be lovely.  It would give you boost and maybe recharge the batteries.  But recharge the batteries for what?  Dealing with the same old crap that has brought you to this website in the first place?

Life coaching can help you to see what works for you and what doesn’t, and enable you to tweak the behaviours that are holding you back.  It will give you confidence and clarity along with techniques to keep things on track.  It can be the key to finding and living a life that feels just right – a life that fits.  And that will last a lifetime.

So a bit of a bargain really!

I do realise it is a big financial outlay for many and that is why I offer staged payment options with most of my coaching packages.  See my pricing page for more details.

Why do I need a package of coaching sessions?2021-03-29T14:29:59+00:00

A package of coaching sessions is the ideal way to keep momentum and focus.  It tends to be more effective than individual sessions.  In other words, you’ll achieve better results in less time.  In addition, with a package, we’ll both be fully committed to getting you to where you want to be, no matter what we encounter on the way.

With a coaching package, you’ll be able to work out where you are, where you want to be and how to get there.  Together, we’ll help you get real change happening.  Plus, you’ll have support and encouragement to overcome any obstacles.

I offer a range of different coaching packages to suit different people.  You can see them here.  The right package for you will depend on what you’re dealing with, how self motivated you are and how ingrained any issues are.

I’m happy to help you choose which coaching package will suit you best in your free exploratory session.

What if I change my mind?2021-03-29T14:29:23+00:00

Embarking on a course of coaching is a commitment – to yourself and to what you’re trying to achieve.  This commitment in itself can make a huge difference.  It’s a commitment on my part too.  I will be be there for you during our sessions and make sure you can see me when you need to.  Plus, I’ll be there with support in between sessions (Sort It and Change It Coaching Packages).

Sometimes, we may need to explore some of the tricky stuff to get rid of it once and for all.  We’ll do that at your pace but, even so, it may feel a little wobbly at times.  Ducking out can seem like the easy option.  That means that you don’t get the change you set out to achieve.  Additionally, it means I’m incentivised to keep you away from where the answers may be, which would be doing us both a disservice.

I do appreciate that sometimes the unexpected can happen.  If that’s the case, it’s fine to pause your coaching sessions and return to them when you’re ready.

Come and meet me for a free exploratory session so you can be sure that life coaching, and specifically life coaching with me, is right for you.
