And what I don’t do
While I’m your life coach, both during and between sessions, I’ll be doing everything I can to get you to where you want to be. I’m dedicated, genuine, encouraging and supportive.
However, what I won’t be doing is all of the work – this is a partnership and what you get out of it depends on what you put in.
When you commit to life coaching with me, your part of the deal is to:
I’m not the life coach for you if you want someone to give you all the answers or someone who will always agree with you. If you want to keep up appearances and won’t look beneath the surface, then it’s unlikely we’ll achieve much. And though I’ve been employed and self-employed, worked in commerce and healthcare and established small, successful businesses, I’m not the one to help if you only want to polish your CV or ace an interview.
My style is informal and what you see is what you get. I don’t do motivational slogans or live an Insta life. I’m a professional but I’m human.
I expect my clients to bring themselves – their true selves – to the process.
In return, as your life coach, I bring:
I’ll be open and honest and will do my best to create a warm, safe environment so you can be the same. I’ll always listen attentively and reflect back what I’m hearing.
I’ll be there to support and encourage every step of the way, without judgement, without assumptions and without prejudice. I know that this stuff isn’t easy and I’ll always be there with empathy and compassion.
As a neutral observer, I may see things that you’re missing. I’ll highlight and challenge these, but always at your pace. Sometimes we’ll dig deeper to uncover real motivations – the icky, sticky stuff but often where the answers lie.
I’ll provide accountability and sometimes an encouraging prod. Having someone on your side can make a huge difference. Plus I’ve got a great selection of coaching tools which can open up new ways of thinking about yourself and your life.
