I’m Emma Byers, a life coach who hates the term “life coach”.  If I’m honest, it makes me think of yuppies, Filofaxes and, yes, even self-indulgence!

However, I know from experience that the reality is very different.  Life coaching is very practical, incredibly effective and can be life changing.

Above all, I know that it’s not self-indulgent to want to reach your potential and live a life that doesn’t jar or grate or bloody well hurt.

I specialise in transformational coaching, a powerful life coaching style to encourage meaningful, lasting change.  Using this, I help people find the life they want or become the person they feel they were always meant to be.  In addition, I have a Diploma in Transformational Coaching from the Animas Centre for Coaching.  This is one of the UK’s leading coaching courses and is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Previously, I worked as a Five Element acupuncturist for nearly 15 years.  I loved it in many ways, again helping people to find their unique path to health and fulfilment.  However, sometimes I would wonder if there was another way more suited to me and my skills.  After some life-changing events, I decided to switch my focus and become a life coach.

I know how it feels to struggle with decisions and to rally against unwelcome changes.  And I have repeatedly made the same mistakes and constantly wondered “what’s my thing?”.  I’ve run from truths or hidden behind self-built walls.  It’s taken time, effort and a bit of courage to take a deep breath, stand still and remove some barriers so I can live the life I want.

In conclusion, I believe that the lessons I’ve learned – and continue to learn – help my understanding of others and make me a better life coach.
